Aunt Phyllis's House

Aunt Phyllis's house--
same pink bathroom, same "firm" bed--
Am I caught in time?

During the Napa Earthquake (We're All Fine-- Nothing Broken, No One Hurt in the Hattersley House)

Wake to rolling earth--
we hold hands in bed, waiting
for pictures to fall.

I feel and hear
you breathe. Your side of the bed
is warm, comforting.
