I keep your memory alive.
All that grasping for
stories, for
pictures, for
information
when you first died
help me feed my heart
so that nothing about you
will ever be obscure.
But years pass and pass, and though
I have lost the sound of your voice
I know I will recognize it
if I hear it again.

Clear Drops of Rain...
Clear drops of rain—
Trying not to be depressed,
I gaze at pine branches.

Hair’s a mess...
Hair’s a mess.
I am grateful
for hats.

Written Just Now!
The clock ticks,
the cats snore,
snuggling their blankets.
—————
Worrying
to the tune of a ticking clock
and cat snores.

On Poetry Pea Podcast!
One of my haiku has been featured on the Poetry Pea Podcast for 9/3/18. I'm so honored! When you look at the folks' works featured, it is really something to be in such company.
Just in case you don't want to listen, here it is.
Cool night air,the sound of crickets -- and snoring.

September 2018
The smell of fennel--
bees walk on yellow flowers,
smelling ocean air.
----
Weeds and flowers,
wild fennel and iceplant--
occasional butterflies.
----
Gulls cry a lot.
Summer's last hurrah--
Maybe they're hot.
----
Peaceful walk--
except for the pebble
in my shoe.
----
The ocean's edge
smells of weed and pee.
People sure fuck things up.
----
Shimmering sea,
Indian Summer sun beats down--
a grebe floats alone.

October's cool sun--
a fuzzy cat reclines,
soaking it in.
