Walking on gravel...

Walking on gravel—

always a pebble 

in my shoe

And even further back!

Brown sand in my socks
and shoes.
Worth it.

skies made of smoke and loss—
I can’t breathe.

A long walk through trees—
the smell of eucalyptus
