Not Haiku

I don't know about joy, but

fresh air,

green hills with yellow poppies,

turkeys milling by the creek --

I must be close.

Taking out the trash... (Tanka)

Taking out the trash--

my neighborhood appears! 

Trees, hills, plants, fresh air!

It's beautiful out here;

I forget so easily.

Slogging for days
with a brain of overcooked oats,
wishing it was fresh coffee.

Opening up windows 
for fresh air, I realize 
I'm scared to go out.

Smell of fresh apples...

Smell of fresh apples, 
revive me in this sea of
refrigeration!

White crosses dot the
hill and multiply. Fresh grass
grows under them all.
