The window's closed,

but I hear birds. Maybe

they're discussing Spring.

It's cold in the house.
I open the windows anyway 

to smell Spring.

From the window...

From the window—
dark outlines of green trees,
wispy gray fog.

Out the window,
trees wave at each other
in the cold wind.

Red leaves falling...

Red leaves falling -- 
Cat watches birds in the rain 
from the window.

Outside my window...

Outside my window --
one white flower grows
on the biggest bush.

but through the open window
birdsong.

Opening up windows 
for fresh air, I realize 
I'm scared to go out.

Breezes blow warmly...

Breezes blow warmly.
Through the open window-- the
smell of nectarines. 

Opening windows...

Opening windows
to fresh breezes and birdsong,
l listen and breathe.

Though

it rains hard and feels
like Winter, a ladybug
flies past my window.
